Wer die Freiheit aufgibt um Sicherheit zu gewinnen, der wird am Ende beides verlieren
Das Zitat aus der Headline ist von Benjamin Franklin und damit bereits viele Jahre alt. Dennoch ist es derzeit leider wieder sehr aktuell.
Andere haben zu diesem Themengebiet bereits viel geschrieben, besser formuliert sowie fundierter berichtet, als ich es hier je könnte. Dennoch sind die Informationsfreiheit und der Datenschutz ein so wichtiges Thema, dass auch ich hier ein paar Sätze dazu schreiben möchte. Außerdem ist …
- … dies etwas, was man nicht oft ansprechen und damit evtl. noch Leute erreichen kann, die sich bisher noch nicht mit der Thematik auseinander gesetzt haben
- … dies definitiv kein Thema von irgendwelchen Nerds oder Geeks – es geht alle Bundesbürger an!
Letztes Jahr hatten wir unter anderem die Debatte um den “Bundestrojaners” oder die Einführung einer Zensurinfrastruktur im Internet von der Zensursula.
Heute geht es weiter. Mit dem Nacktscanner. Und mit ELENA. Und mit vielen weiteren gefährlichen Sachen. Ich denke, dass man sicherlich gut über jede einzelne Maßnahme diskutieren kann (und sicher auch muss). Einige sind auch nicht grundlegend falsch, aber in der Summe führen sie zu immer größeren Eingriffen in die persönlichen Freiheit!
Denn ist erst einmal ein neues Datenbanksystem zur Datensammlung bzw. Vorratsdatenspeicherung errichtet, so …
- … schaltet das niemand so schnell wieder ab
- … werden die gesammelten Daten für andere Sachen verwendet und freigegeben als inital angegeben
Antiterrorwahn
Was mich stört ist, dass die Politik nicht nach Lösungen sucht – sondern nur noch auf bestimmte Ereignisse reagiert. Lösungen werden nicht mehr benötigt, wenn man Probleme einfach verbietet. Zensursula glaubt, dass die Bürger beim Einsatz gegen “Kinderschänder” die Internetsperren akzeptieren würden. Ähnlich verhält es sich auch beim “Kampf gegen Terrorismus”. In diesem Sinne ist alles erlaubt. Das dafür die persönlichen Freiheit auf der Strecke bleibt ist nebensächlich und erfolg doch schließlich im Namen des Kampfes gegen den Terrorismus und Al Qaida.
Um Lösungen geht es auch bei der angeblichen Terrorgefahr nur untergeordnet. Die Terrorismusbekämpfung ist lediglich ein vorgeschobenes Problem und ist dafür geeignet von den wirklichen Problemen (bspw. im eigenen Land) abzulenken. In den USA konnte Bush mit 9/11 endlich endlich eine Serie von Kriegen legitimieren. Sollte Deutschland tatsächlich in Terrorgefahr sein – so wäre dann doch auch die Bundesregierung dran beteiligt: Aufgrund von Bundeswehr-Auslandseinsätzen oder den Umbau der deutschen Streitkräfte in eine Interventionsarmee.
Nacktscanner
… nach dem Vorfall in Detroit entsteht wieder hektischer Aktionismus. Nacktscanner (bzw. etwas neutraler auch Körperscanner genannt) sollen vor dem Versagen ablenken und eine Sicherheit vortäuschen, die es gar nicht geben kann.
So wird es immer Verrückte geben, die beispielsweise Explosivmittel schlucken oder sonst wie in sich bringen und evtl. per Fernbedienung zünden. Oder die potentiellen Terroristen reisen mit Diplomatenpass. In solchen Fällen ist der Nacktscanner vollkommen nutzlos.
Befürworter sagen nun vielleicht “… ok mit dem Körperscanner gibt es keine 100%ige Sicherheit, aber es ist doch immer noch sicherer als die bisherigen Kontrollen …“.
Das mag evtl. richtig sein, hilft aber dennoch nicht über die Tatsache hinweg, dass hier eine Maßnahme geschaffen wird, die tief in die Privatsphäre eingreift und dabei keinen oder nur einen sehr geringen Zugewinn an Sicherheit ermöglicht. Außerdem müssten die Scanner – sofern sie überhaupt auch irgendwie Sinn machen sollten – dann gleichzeitig weltweit auf allen internationalen Flughäfen eingesetzt werden.
Außerdem nehme ich an, dass der ganze Kram auch unglaublich teuer ist. Das ganze Geld, das in Sicherheitstechnik investiert wird, wäre in Schulen und gute Ausbildungen in den entsprechenden Ländern wohl sinnvoller investiert. Verrückte wird es immer geben, wenn man aber in einer Gesellschaft insgesamt positive Zukunftsaussichten schafft (was zugegebenermaßen sehr schwer ist), dann macht dies das eigene Land sicherer als es die Nacktscanner jemals könnten.

Angebliches Ziel: Entbürokratisierung.
In Wirklichkeit: Vorratsdatenspeicherung mit höchstsensiblen Daten wie Kündigungsgründen oder Abmahnungen.
Angesichts des erheblichen Aufwandes, den Arbeitgeber betreiben müssten, um die notwendige Datenbank aufzubauen ist auch eine Kostenersparnis sehr unwahrscheinlich.

Wo sind eigentlich die Verteidiger der freiheitlichen, demokratischen Grundordnung in Union und FDP?
Da ich dort noch niemanden sinnvolle Sachen zu diesem Thema hab sagen hören ist es wichtig, dass es Menschen gibt, die sich hier engagieren. Beispielsweise der CCC. Oder die Piratenpartei.

Das Zitat von Franklin ist natürlich immer noch aktuell, wenngleich es im Zusammenhang mit Informationsfreiheit und Datenschutz m.E.nicht hundertprozentig passt, weil die Freiheit hier ja nicht aufgegeben, sondern allenfalls eingeschränkt wird.
Antiterrorwahn:
Ich halte es durchaus für akzeptabel, die persönliche Freiheit in gewissem Umfang einzuschränken, wenn dadurch Erfolge der Terroristen vereitelt oder auch nur erschwert würden. Aber ich teile deine Meinung, dass die Terrorgefahr sehr von den BW-Einsätzen geprägt ist.
Nacktscanner:
Positive Zukunftsaussichten hängen in unserer Gesellschaft fast
ausschließlich von der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Situation ab und sind
deshalb schwieriger zu haben als Körperscanner.
